October in Arlington

My trip back east last week was a blast. The worst part was the weather, hot and humid, just like the old days but in the wrong month. Just my luck, Bethany Beach weather long after we're in Bethany. The weekend was spent getting to know Kyla's boyfriend Josh, an all around great guy. (we both agree ice cream is a major food group, the rest is just details) Here he and Kyla are pictured above at Great Falls Park where I dragged them to show them where I spent my time when I should have been in high school.

It was also nice to see Kyla's cat, Pinto, so happy. She has really made herself at home after moving east last spring. She's even stopped looking for evil terrier mutts behind every couch.Of course a weekend with Kyla would not be complete without a jaunt out to the polo fields. Kyla has found a great place that lets her work in exchange for polo playing time. On the many weekends Josh comes for a visit he gets the honor of helping. He helped catch the horse above so that Kyla could chase him around a ring with a whip. No, really.
On Sunday Iva and I were treated to a lovely brunch and game of Apples to Apples. Josh had never played before but caught on quickly and managed to make Kyla blush several times. A great time. Above is the corresponding picture to Paige's picture. Later in the week us ladies went to see the dance tour of the show, So You Think You Can Dance. Although we had to drive to Baltimore on a weekend it was wonderful to see all our favorites in person.
Josh and Kyla again. Hey I was learning to use my new camera and took a gazillion pictures so I had to put one more in. It was very gracious of Josh to put of with a lot of posing. Josh will also be in Tn with us at Thanksgiving. If he can take four years in the Marine Corps and a life time of being one of six kids he should be tough enough for a Beatty get together. Maybe. And no he doesn't play bridge.
